Sometimes trauma can be part of the human experience, as we experience both the
joys and sorrows of life.
If you're experiencing stress, concern about your family's health, or fear of the future, perhaps you feel as if you're floating through life, or your view of life is grey.
Each person responds to challenging life situations in a unique way, and one response is avoiding the pain of the moment by disassociating ... sometimes a little, sometimes a lot.
Feeling that your head is in the clouds is a common way to avoid unpleasant feelings, and can be a viable approach for the moment. Yet it can disconnect you from your strengths and the resilience that resides inside you.
Whether you've been in a car accident, fallen, had birth trauma, been very sick, had a painful divorce, lost your job, had a death in the family, or experienced emotional, physical or sexual abuse, at some point in our lives each of us has experienced a traumatic event.
Remote Trauma Healing™ can assist you through these challenging times and strengthen your internal resources. Specifically, working in partnership, I can support you in moving out of your feelings of overwhelm, so you can see your past in the rear view mirror, instead of reliving it daily.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few uncomfortable emotions that can linger long after traumatic events. Feeling detached, easily triggered, irritable, or a lack of interest in things you once enjoyed can all be symptoms of unresolved trauma. I can help you overcome these symptoms, and guide you through the process of healing to overcome these symptoms.
With Remote Trauma Healing™ I'm sensing you in your entirety. First and foremost, I'm tuning into your nervous system, instead of through a diagnostic lens, because I don't consider you to have a shortcoming. I view you as resourceful, and I help you to find those resources, in case you have forgotten them. This strengthens your ability to respond to life as it is, with creativity.
Long after a traumatic event is over, we can continue to experience feelings of isolation, shame, depression, overwhelm, fear, and anxiety.
We may have buried the trauma in our bodies. Chronic pain, migraines, irritable bowel syndrome, back pain, or neck pain can all be symptoms of unprocessed trauma.
Combining my understanding of you, along with your feedback during our sessions, will begin to establish support for you physically, emotionally, and mentally.
We all come to a fork in the road at some point in our lives. With the COVID-19 crisis, you may be feeling heightened stress levels, may not know which way to turn, or may not trust in yourself. At the same time, you could also have past trauma that is rearing its head during this pandemic, and you find that you're responding from an old habit of extreme stress or freeze.
Trauma occurs when we are unable to defend ourselves through the normal responses - either through fighting or running away from a threatening situation. When those two responses are not available, our nervous system may involuntarily goes into a “freeze.” Anytime you are unable to defend yourself or run away when you are threatened, the risk of trauma can occur. This un-resourced state can lead to anxiety, worry, insomnia, or fear about the future. It can also contribute to illness or chronic pain.
This may be a time when extra support helping you to move unwanted energies and stuck feelings, emotions, sensations, and thoughts out of your body could be extremely useful in re-establishing some coherency and resiliency back into your life. Through Remote Trauma Healing™ specifically, I can help you reorient to a healthier nervous system .
The human energy field or aura is an important boundary that we all have. Extending out around us, and usually way past our skin, it protects us from being physically and emotionally drained. A breach in this boundary is often the result of a traumatic event.
For example, without forewarning, the force of an oncoming car crash also "dented" your energy field. You can visualize this breach as a chunk now missing from your protective energy bubble. Without a whole, healthy energy field, further trauma can enter where the original rupture occurred, and can feel like balls of interference around you.
By repairing and strengthening this boundary through Remote Trauma Healing™, we facilitate healing on all levels, so that further trauma is less likely to occur. This resilient, intact boundary facilitates a feeling of ease and safety in life.
Sometimes after the effects of difficult life experiences, we want to blend in and appear like everything else, or everyone else. Or we may feel invisible and want to disappear.
Anxiety, isolation, fear, shame, depression, and overwhelm are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives.
Together, through Remote Trauma Healing™ we are able to help you recover the motivation, perspective, peace, and joy that you may have once had in your life.
Sessions are conducted by Zoom, and I work with clients around the world. After over 40 years of working with both the body and the anatomy of trauma, I've noticed that when I work with a client, a picture appears in my mind's eye. It's as if a little screen pops up that I can see while I'm feeling/sensing, and I become almost like an ultrasound machine. I'm able to find places that are constricted during Remote Trauma Healing™, and can help a client release these restrictions. Together we facilitate a movement of any blockages.
It is most helpful if you are comfortable during your Remote Trauma Healing™ session, and without interruptions or distractions.
I will carefully guide you through the process. We will work with your intention, and what you'd like to start resolving during the session. As the session evolves, you might notice that you have some trembling, shaking, twitching, yawning, burping, or have temperature changes. These are all wonderful signs that your nervous system is discharging stuck energy, and it means that you are releasing the “freeze” from your body.
It can take one session or many, as it depends on the nature of the trauma you're intending to resolve. If we are working to transform pre- or perinatal trauma or early childhood trauma, this can take longer than working with a traumatic event that happened as an adult, such as unemployment, health challenges, financial insecurity, or an accident. The severity of the trauma can also come into play determining the length of healing and resolution.
Healing from trauma is usually a gradual and steady process. We can determine together what might be a comfortable number of Remote Trauma Healing™ sessions, and the right length of time between sessions.
As we work together during a session, with gentle guidance utilizing my understanding with you, Remote Trauma Healing™ can support your expanded well-being, and contribute to a freer nervous system, while also allowing a more spacious experience of life.
