At some point in our lives, each of us has experienced a traumatic event. Trauma occurs when we are unable to defend ourselves by either fighting or fleeing a threatening situation. When those two responses are not available, our nervous system involuntarily goes into a “freeze.” Freezing, going numb, or disassociating is a protective mechanism that gets us through the experience. Subconsciously, we shelve that experience for a time when it is SAFE to process. Think of it like hibernating, which provides us a place of safety. The problem is that, in the meantime, we often unconsciously keep reliving that trauma.
The healing process could be described as melting this freeze, gradually and gently, with skillful methods. Because we are collaborating during your session, it becomes an empowering experience.
With the Coronavirus crisis, many people are experiencing heightened stress levels. They may also be responding to situations by going into a freeze. If past trauma starts rearing its head during this pandemic, an increased stress response often ensues.
Gently and slowly, we release the concerns and stresses around painful emotions or thoughts. Remote Trauma Healing™ can help relax your system, and guide you through life situations so that you feel more inner strength and resources.
What looks like a string of bad luck is often the result of unprocessed trauma - when we are unconsciously reliving a traumatic event, we are more vulnerable to repeated accidents and injuries. Repeated car accidents and injuries can also occur because of unresolved trauma, causing freeze. During our phone sessions, we utilize slow pacing to teach your body and brain to relax. Opening up this natural flow of relaxation enhances the healing process.
If you find that your brain and nervous system are more easily overwhelmed because of the current pandemic situation, you're welcome to connect with me for support during this time.
